Town of Middlebury Parks - Hours of Operation and Use


Middlebury Town Parks
are open for the year-round enjoyment
of the public 
during the following hours:


 Battell Woods           6:30 a.m. - 9:00 p.m. 
 Cannon Park           7:00 a.m. - midnight
 Chipman Hill Park           6:30 a.m. - 9:00 p.m.
 East Middlebury Recreation Park           7:00 a.m. - midnight
 Happy Trail           6:30 a.m. - 9:00 p.m.
 Ilsley Public Library Garden           7:00 a.m. - midnight
 D.M. Means Memorial Woods           6:30 a.m. - 9:00 p.m.
 The Powerhouse           6:30 a.m. - 9:00 p.m.
 Recreation Park           7:00 a.m. - midnight
 Village Green / Triangle Park           7:00 a.m. - midnight
 Wright Park            Daylight Hours Only

By ordinance, overnight camping is prohibited in all Town Parks.

An Ordinance for the Daily Closing of Parks

Overnight campers can investigate campgrounds, such as nearby
Rivers Bend (open May 16) and Vermont State Parks (most are open Memorial Day
to Columbus Day) or free camping on Green Mountain National Forest lands.


For your enjoyment and that of others, please remember
the following when using Middlebury's Parks:
  •  Remain on established trails to protect new undergrowth
  •  Carry out what you carry in and clean up after your pets
  •  Wear appropriate clothing to protect yourself from insects and   poisonous plants
