Public Works

The Middlebury Public Works Department is responsible for the maintenance and improvement of the Town's public roadway and sidewalk network, the stormwater and sewer system as well as the related operations of the wastewater treatment facility, the Town's water delivery system including pump stations, and the upkeep of the entire Town vehicle and equipment inventory.

Public Works staff also supervise the maintenance and improvement of all Town-owned facilities, as well as supervise and implement an extensive and ongoing schedule of capital improvements to ensure the long-term sustainability of our public utility systems.

The three divisions of Public Works, including Highway/Equipment, Wastewater, and Water, work throughout the year to ensure a safe and well-maintained public infrastructure to support the needs of the Middlebury community.

If you have any questions for the Public Works Department, or would like to raise any matter of concern to the Department's attention, please do not hesitate to reach out!
