On-Call Engineering Services Agreement Affirmed
The Selectboard authorized documentation reflecting the continued on-call engineering services with Wright-Pierce Engineering for the Public Works Department.
 
Nominations Made to Town Boards, Committees, Commissions, and Official Positions
The applications submitted to the Selectboard by the public were moved into nomination, and the Selectboard will make appointments at the next meeting.
 
Request for Repairs & Redesigns to Town Water Well Approved
To make repairs to the Variable Frequency Drive at water well #4 and conduct a complete redevelopment of the well itself, the Selectboard approved a proposed contract with Pratt & Smith Electrical to replace the VFD for $25,982 and with Barrie Miller’s Well & Pump Services to complete the overall well redesign for $46,500.
 
Parking/Safety Concerns Raised Regarding South Ridge Drive
Representatives of the South Ridge Homeowners Association presented to the Selectboard concerns about the use of S. Ridge Drive as a parking site for visitors to the nearby recreational fields at the Middle School, and the safety issues they felt were being caused by this parking.
 
Purchase of Additional Wastewater Treatment Plant Equipment Approved
The Selectboard authorized Public Works to purchase additional diffuser equipment for the Town’s wastewater treatment plant from Aqua-Aerobic Systems for $28,068.
 
Update Presentation by Middlebury Skatepark Project
Representatives from the Middlebury Skatepark Project provided the Selectboard with updates on the group’s fundraising and outreach efforts as well as their plans for the upcoming year to continue to raise awareness and support for the proposed skatepark.
 
Policy Reforms to Town’s Parking Ticket Appeal Process Supported
The Selectboard supported the proposed changes to how the Town reviews parking ticket appeals, shifting the process to a written appeal that would be reviewed by a three-person panel. Additionally, the process will extend the length of time that an appeal can be submitted, and appeals will now also be accepted online as
 
Approval of Check Warrants
The Selectboard approved expenditures, for the time period of March 27, 2024 through April 9, 2024, in the amount of $7,780,361.55.
