Proposed Further Stabilization Efforts for High Street Approved
- The Selectboard approved the proposed contract with Champlain Construction, not to exceed $201,200, to further address damage to the roadway and adjacent embankment caused by the summer 2023 storms along High Street, just south of the intersection with Route 7.
 
Congressionally Directed Spending Grant Application for New Chipman Hill Water Tank Supported
- Public Works presented to the Selectboard a proposed application to U.S. Senator Sanders requesting $1,000,000 in federal capital funding to support the planned expansion of the Town water system storage capacity. The Board approved the application.
 
Town’s CY2024 Paving Contract Awarded
- After receiving two responses from the recent public bids, the Selectboard awarded the Town’s 2024 paving contract to D&F Paving for $323,744. This contract will involve paving activity on ten Town roadways.
 
Application for State Roadway Funding Approved
- The Selectboard approved the proposed application from Public Works to seek capital funding from the State’s Class 2 Town Highway funding program for future paving on Halladay Road.
 
Archeology Assessment & Historical Resources Contracts Awarded for Ongoing Bakery Lane & South Street Infrastructure Projects
- As part of the Town’s involvement in the State’s Clean Water Revolving Fund, Public Works sought proposals from archeological and historical impact consultants to review each of these sites. The Selectboard approved a contract with Crown Consulting Archeology for $4,575 for archaeological resource work at both sites, and a contract with Hartgen Archeological Associates for historical resource identification for just the Bakery Lane site for $4,800.
 
Public Assemblage Permit Approved for 2024 Middlebury Car Show/Fall Festival
- The Better Middlebury Partnership and the Addison County Chamber of Commerce submitted their public assemblage permit application, and received approval, for the upcoming Car Show/Fall Festival, scheduled for 10.13.2024 from 6am-6pm.
 
Update from the Homelessness Task Force Provided
- Representatives from the Task Force, reestablished in the fall of 2023, provided the Selctboard with an update on the various efforts being undertaken to continue to build relationships with the unhoused population of the Town, as well as continuing to offer services through continued outreach and develop policies/recommendations to address and discuss concerns raised by the community.
 
Congressional Directed Spending Grant Application for Library Renovation/Expansion Supported
- The Selectboard supported the draft application from Library staff to U.S. Senator Welch, requesting $500,000 in federal capital funding, to support the proposed Ilsley Library renovation and expansion.
 
Draft MOU with Town of Weybridge for Providing Library Services to Weybridge Residents Supported
- Ilsley Library staff presented to the Selectboard the draft Memorandum of Understanding with the Town of Weybridge, providing Ilsley library services to Weybridge residents in exchange for an annual appropriation from Weybridge. The Selectboard approved the draft MOU.
 
FY25 Weybridge Library Appropriation Allocated to Library Capital Campaign
- The FY25 annual funding allocation from the Town of Weybridge for access to the Ilsley Library for its residents will be allocated to the library’s general capital improvements line, to support the ongoing Library capital campaign. Moving forward, this annual appropriation will be included in the library’s general operational budget.
 
Public Warning for the Upcoming Bond Vote on Library Renovation/Expansion Approved
- The Selectboard approved the formal public warning for the upcoming public bond vote to support the proposed renovation and expansion of the Ilsley Public Library. The informational meeting will take place on 5.6 at 7pm and the vote on 5.7 from 7am to 7pm.
 
Selectboard Annual Subcommittee/Board Appointments Approved
- The Selectboard approved assignments of its members to various Town Selectboard Subcommittees and Board representatives, with no changes from last year’s assignments for returning board members. New board member Fred Dunnington will be assigned to the Energy Committee and Infrastructure Committee.
 
Approval of Check Warrants
- The Selectboard approved expenditures, for the time period of March 13, 2024 through March 26, 2024, in the amount of $1,108,697.71.
